Having recently lifted my D2 and added bigger wheels, I now have the predicament of how I lower the tow bar to tow a trailer!

The ball was height adjustable however already needed to be lowered to the lowest point to tow the trailer I use for scouts. Now it is sitting another 3-4inch's higher I'm at a cross roads of what to do.

I have seen 2" receiver hitch's which look ideal as it will allow me to off road without risking ploughing however these are looking expensive.

As I am towing more than off roading, is it better to add an adjustable height tow bar coupling and removing when off roading instead as a cheaper alternative?

After opinions / past experience please - TIA
