Hi all,

I’m looking to get a cycle carrier that mounts directly to the tow bar on my FL1.

I’ve managed for years just putting the bike in the back of my truck (commercial) with the front wheel off and making it fit. I’ve just ordered a Ebike (MTB) and the weight of the bike are almost double and ineed an alternative approach. Has anyone fitted a 2-3 cycle carrier that hitches onto the tow bar and clears the spare wheel on the rear door? I’ve seen a few in Halfrauds but I’m unsure if they will foul the spare wheel.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A cheeky pic of my truck as well.

Looks like you'll have to lift the bike an extra couple of inches as well.

I have a tow bar mounted rack, but you need one designed to bend out to clear a door mounted tyre.

This is a Kiwi made one, no idea what ones are available in UK.

That's a car, not a truck ;)
I have a cycle carrier that goes on the tow hitch but it would be no good with a spare wheel.
Check the load capacity of anything you find

That’s the ones I’ve been looking at. I might pop down with the FL to halfrauds later and have a look to see if they will fit.

You'll need to get a number plate too, as the normal plate is obviously obscured when it's full of bikes. You'll need your V5 to get a number plate made. ;)
