Hi,

Does anyone know if you can tow all wheels down a model year 2006 or newer Range Rover? I understand that there is no neutral position within the transfer case.

Cheers

Yes they removed the need to do the '5 Amp fuse into position 37' trick necessary for the old NVG225 transfer box when they changed to the Magna Steyr unit from 2006 onwards. Just make sure you select Neutral on the transmission (obviously!).

Land Rover specify a 30 mile and 30mph limit for towing on all four wheels.

Hi Guys,

That answers that then, I need to stay with a 2005 MY or older as I tow my 2000 MY RR for hundreds of miles at a time running at motorway speeds behind a Motorhome, a maximum of 30x30 does not do it for me. I thank you for the detail that was very helpful.

Cheers

How do you do that legally then?

get a trailer.Sounds like ya motor home is mahoosive. Is ya a yank?

Hi, I don’t want to start another forum debate over the old chestnut of towing a car on an A frame, IMO it is legal if you follow the known regulations and your insurance companies (both the Motorhome and the trailed car) requirements. I use the following A Frame Blue Ox Tow Bars and the following braking mechanism BrakeBuddy UK - Vehicle braking system for safe towing with your motorhome I then follow a few other things which are my interpretation of the law. As for the question on the Motorhome, yes it is a small yank not a massive one, but as is the case with most yanks it has the capacity to tow several tonnes.

Cheers
