what color smoke are you getting from the exhaust - have you done a compression and/or a leak down test

are you positive the timing is correct ?

the timing is right loads of comperssion on all clynders

might be worth getting someone else to check that the timing is indeed correct, if you've got fuel, compression and some air there isn't much else that'll stop a 200 firing up

thanks guys but after a week of pulling my hair out and asking evryone i know i found the problem at last ..... the spill timing was out, the 3 bolst on the pump pully had worked loose and the pully had slipped in the slots and the pump was pumping just after tdc so it was getting feul just after the fire stroke sorted it now and the landys off for its mot the morra fingers crossed

thanks for all you advice folks

so it was the timing - glad it's sorted

If he had told you when you asked first, about all the white smelly smoke out the exhaust, you would have persuaded him sooner that the timing was out.

He argued! He KNEW the timing was right - three people checked it!

OOOOps!

tyhe timing marks on the pullys all lined up it was the bolst on the pump pully that had moved so insted of it pumping in feul at 30 deegees tdc it was at 15 tdc so again the timing marks lined up the shaft in the pump had mrotated slighty and was only found out when we done a spill test on the pump so the new belt was replaced correctly and the timing set correctly the pump was at fault not the timngi set up

ok ok it was the timing not the slack bolts on the feul pump sorry for not explaing the problem correctly

johnboy

did u not have the pump timing pin the pump pully? you have to undo the 3 pully bolts line up the other 2 marks then tighten the pully bolts
