Hi all,
Gave my disco a bit of a service today including, oil change, fuel filter change and sedimenter clean, toped up the diffs, tranny, and gearbox oils, and finally I fitted an EGR blanking plate.
I found it to be a simple job, however one thing which caught me unawares, was the Y peice on my top intercooler hose. I fitted the blanking plate fine, and taped up the hose and electrical connector, but the I/C hose was left open. Since I don't yet have a replacement, I bodged it closed with a wine bottle cork, and taped it in place.
My first question is; will this surfice for a week or so until the new straight through intercooler hose arrives?
and secondly; what sort of results have you gotten from removing your EGR? I was both disappointed and relieved to find that my intake manifold and hoses didn't seem to be too clogged up with muck, so I'm not expecting a huge difference seeing as it wasn't that bad anyway by the looks of it.
