Planning a trip to Cornwall next year from the East of England in my 1987 90 200tdi. will be taking 3-4 with me carry most things on the roof rack. apart from the polybush, suspension is standard. Things on the roof will include the usual camping stuff, and other bits and bobs. Will the standard suspension be up to the job? Cheers

Cooling system, and motor enough power for 70MPH

It's hard to guess without a specific weight you're trying to carry on the roof. Heavier items would be suited inside and leave the lighter items for the roof ( common sense here ;) )

Have a look in the expedition section, lots of info for loading your landy up for trips and where to put the heavier items ( inside/central is a good start ;) )

Also take into consideration the weight of the roofrack, if it's a beast then it's gonna be a fair weight already, where is it anchored on the landy? It's not just being top heavy but how secure is the whole roofrack with added weight.

I think the 90 and Disco 1 share the same springs.
My Disco 1, ES has a 2" lift, medium duty and I've FULLY loaded the roof rack with Kayak and bikes and then filled the Disco with people and camping gear and its always been fine. Slow and steady and enjoy the drive!

Now where's the top heavy photos!
