Hey guys as some of you are awrae i have a couple of projects underway with 2 different P38's

with the joy of working away have atken far too long to progress on the engine knock one

see this thread for more details
http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f10/why-you-should-change-your-oil-regularly-98678.html

so got the donor engine on the stand waiting on gaskets so thought i would strip the engine knock one out to survey damage and look to put in the green P38 ( project 3 or the original project)

turbo is shot, was going to take crank to be ground or inspected next week, took head off to check pistons and ends etc

bores are good, head looked ok was going to skim it anyway to be safe

believe pistons were ok until closer inspection revealed surface cracks in the tops Photos will go up in a few mins to
http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/members/cavey_p38-albums-p38-engine-knock-picture3497-piston.html

then put cam back on and was doing bolts up with a spinner bar using my fingers only no rachet and this happens
Land Rover Zone - Cavey_P38's Album: P38 Engine Knock - Picture

winner, need to find a cheap cam or another donor engine for the green p38 project

so anybody top that for a bad day in the workshop this weekend
