Tool organisers

As I've accumulated most of the commonly used tools for a Landy, they're driving me up the wall as I keep them in tool bags and all over the place and keep losing things. Does anyone know if you can get a case that you can customise yourself to take your particular tools?

I have a number of tool storage devices including:

• a big toolbox on wheels which can be dragged around which contains all the tools not stored elsewhere
  
• a small case with the small tools which I normally use for electronics work, fine cutters and pliers etc
  
• a toolroll containing a set of basic spanners and things which I might need on the road
  
• the garage floor for the rest.

From what you've described in your question maybe something like one of those big mechanic's tool chests with loads of drawers, but they ain't half expensive.

Just fasten a long board to the wall to take the most common Land rover tools. Knock 4" nails in it ever so often and hang your hammers from that.

Yes a variety thereof. Ranging from very small adjustment to extremely large adjustment versions.

Ahh yes, the large adjustment tool, usually the last resort... and strangely, the one that works.

I only carry one adjustment tool. A huge one! Never needed a lil un!

I've got a pelicase, with some socket trays in. Keeps everything nicely organised. I'll take a picture tomorrow.

every time i go into machine mart i keep looking at the tool chests on wheels , where the locker is on the bottom and sliding drawers on top

as i thought i could then store it under the stairs then just wheel it out to the drive and have everything to hand

surprising how many tools u collect over the years

could try local free ads for used tool chest, seem to crop up now and again.

Fleebay have a us pro roller chest with bottom locker £89. On my list with matching bench. Not snapon but not bad for price

I've got a few Pelicases. I might buy some foam and customise.

that's a patented idea u know, lol

always find that i've forgotten something and end up going backwards and forwards

I have a rubble bucket at present. Guy Martin would feint!

Lots of shelves and racks of tools in garage but never breaks down in garage

this is how I keep my tools I do now have the armour top to the box

Blimey that's posh. I don't have enough tools to fill that!

You have to consider that rule which states that "The number of tools will always increase to over-fill the space available for storage".
In other words, you can never have enough tools and you'll never have enough storage space for them.

I have a lad who is happy to organise my tools. But mostly in HIS tool box.
