You know i've always been tempted to try a polyethelene resin and good sanding to see if it would work on one of those.
There are liquid metals too, now I think about it.
Anyone given it a go yet?

Ooer, that's quite far gone isn't it?
As replacements are only around £100 or so, it probably wouldn't make sense to mess around too long trying to repair old ones.

Quite. Same damage on the other side. I thought it was bad but was hoping it was ok :(

I noticed some light scoring on it about 9 months ago but was nothing like this. Takes the p a little when the previous owner said they had both been replaced before I bought it 18 months ago...

Years ago we used to do temporary repairs to pitted bike forks by degreasing them and giving them a good blast with a blow torch (to burn any residual oil out of the pitting) them fill the pit in with araldite and smooth over with wet & dry. Used to work for a while & stopped the seal getting any more damaged. Worth a try?

Cheers. Tho i shant be attempting anything like that as I dont want to waste a set of new bearings being fitted into a shagged swivel.

Hopefully gigglepin have one at a reasonable cost!!
