Todays laning, North Notts and Lincs ..

A short days laning, North Notts and Lincs mostly. Nothing extreme, just nice, if a bit soggy, lanes. A couple obviously hadn't been driven in a long while. We turned back on another couple simply due to the amount of mud and water on lanes that are close to civilisation and which are known to chew up.

I have a new found love for field roads and grassy lanes through trees and slightly overgrown follies.

Same here mate.

We drove a couple of the lanes a few weeks ago when they were mostly open and you could see the rutted bits .. today they were 3' deep in thistle, nettle and stuff .. lovely! Gives you the impression of forging a path through new country, where others have feared to tread ...

The paddles are 'cos I couldn't find a lifebelt, and didn't want to steal one from the canal, someone else might need it ..
