2004 HSE TD4 120k
Hello to all i hope everybody is safe.
SO i have install a Chinese double din.....all works …but...…I have the Harmon kardon system.
After install the amp works. The front speakers are fine( I have replaced all plugs, because they were faulty) .
Now the front speakers play loud and perfect, the rear ones play but not so loud.....??????!!!!!
Tweeters play but the main one...play but lower?????
Anybody knows what is going on? help please

Have any of the speakers been replaced? Maybe with a more efficient or less efficient driver units?

Nodge remember we talk about it I even bought those speakers. but they were 4 ohms I could not find 2 ohms.
But the fact is the 4 HK are good. they all play and they are in good condition.
In the front they play well and loud. On the rear they sound like tweeters when you put the volume up.
On the radio settings is all ok.....I can even change the output on the amp.
But the speakers...…

It sounds like the speakers to me. If the air gap where the coils run fills with rust, then the speaker sound like tweeters.

I understand but i switch them forward and backwards and they all play nice. ....
I have checked all the wiring and all seems ok
There is no rust on the speakers

I have just installed one too. I am getting sound out ,but the volume is quite quiet, am I doing something wrong. I have not wired it to the amp

Mine is just connected through the black and brown connectors. there is another colourful connector but I didn't connect nothing to it.
In my case only the 4 twitters and the front passenger speaker play. I have checked and change the plugs on the other speakers. They are all fine. But they don't play.
ON my Double din everything works but....I cant turn it off only with the key out.....So I guess it must be something in the Radio.....Maybe

I have the same issue, the tweeters work. I downloaded the HSE wiring diagram from here, but it doesn't quite match, what is in the car

Wiring diagram depends on what year you have. The older RAVE is required for TD4 engine & stuff, but there's a newer (US centric) version for the Facelift wiring looms which doesn't contain the TD4 engine stuff !! Attached diagram was correct for my son's 2004 HSE with the Navigation Stereo & HK Amp.
