got 2 new rear tyres not so long ago (235/70/16) just doing some checks before a long trrip and found out the tyres had 57psi in them
now my fronts with the same gauge are running 36psi
scarey thing is i have been running around for about a month on these am i right in thinking that the rears should be running around 36psi also?

Yes, the mistake I see made fairly often is that people read the sidewall PSI rating, and then blast that in, that is wrong, this is the rating of the tyre, and not however the recommended pressure for the vehicle. I would imagine that if your fronts are 36, then I would go for about 38 on my the backs. I have 235/70/16 off roaders on my 90 and I run them at 30 all round, I belive that fronts are 28 and backs are 32, but I just put in 30. Can't remember my Disco pressures and the tyres are the same size only standard road tyres.

Hi according to the landy disco manual. 235/70/16's should be 26 front and 34 back for normal conditions.

There you go, however 4 in it either way is not an issue, keeps thing simple and easy to remember 30psi.
