New about classic had one of those thought 110 was just a bit longer than the 109 series3 but like I said its going to be his choice in the end hope it all goes well for him

On reflection, if your doing hardly any mileage so running costs are not really an issue, the cheapest option is probably a V8 disco and spec the tyres up. I am assuming you are launching on decent slipways and not off beaches.

Might not even be launching off the trailer, just using it for road transport and line up with all the other yachties at the crane come springtime. Mind you the previous owner of the trailer did launch his yacht off it, but that was in a lake and using a tractor.
If I do launch off the trailer, I'll need to have total confidence in the vehicle, an excellent slipway, and plenty of time, I only have to do it once a year, afterall.

Would say disco if you want a bit of comfort but a 110 the rest of the time. Forget about the rust as any vehicle will rust so just protect it. 90 is too short in my opinion how ever if you have to turn around/reverse in tight quarters then the 90 wins.

Disco seems like a sensible option. You can pick up a fairly decent one for less than £2k. If you want a half decent non antique defender, you're talking £4k+!
Yes, the disco will rot but when it does, you can either fix it or replace it with another and it will still cost ya less than buying a defender.
Also, I wouldn't be surprised if ya end up liking the Landy so much that it becomes your daily drive. I've owned 2 BMWs and still prefer my much older disco 300 tdi on the whole... It's not hard to get converted.

Get a high spec Disco 2 V8. Your tiny usage wont be expensive on fuel.You,ll have loads of power and the D2,s dont suffer with rot.
