Thanks for the reply
I've tried this one
Because the Led is always flashing I think the alarm is still armed but having said that the alarm doesn't go off !

Make sure that switch in ignition switch is working and telling the BECM that the key is out, nothing works as it should if the car thinks the key is still in...its a little latch you can see slide to one side when inserting and removing the key...dont lube it as they stick more, they need blowing out with an airline if they get fluff in them...

Air line works temporarily, ONLY lube to use is graphite powder (dry). Any wet lube (WD etc) will attract dust etc

Can Irishrover contact me please, I tried a pm but it hasn't shown up in my private messages.
Perhaps I'm missing something or its an age thing
Please pretty please

have you checked the fuse box under the bonnet this feeds the becm make sure there is no burning smell look around relay 7 also check all connections on becm itself clean etc and make sure battery is fully charged

Check ur PM settings; make sure to tick the box if you want a sent item copy saved or it won't!

Irish is heading back to Ireland in the next day or two - he'll no doubt be in touch when he can.....I'll e-mail him for you just in case!

I have heard that if you disconnect both terminals from the battery and with the battery out short the two connections to earth out the system that this can clear some faults and allow the eka to be used now I have never done this myself and dont know if it is even advisable but when all else fails it may be worth a try

That may just discharge stored energy quicker, but leaving the battery disconnected for 10 minutes will do the same. (it's 10 minutes for the SRS ECU storage to discharge)

Sorted the problem, drivers door wiring harness some one had been there before !
Can now start the engine, but lots more to do.
Thanks to all for the input
