Does anyone know where I can buy a little gadget that I can wedge under the trigger of the petrol pump so the fuel will flow without me having to hold it?
Thanks

Yes, it's called a fuel cap. I always wedge the cars fuel cap in between the handle when I'm filling the Rangie. Saves getting cramp! Works on my Audi as well.

Shame, on my P38, it works a treat. Might I suggest a piece of softwood of the right width. Cost you nothing

The pumps have a latch on them for that purpose, the little latch on the bottom swings up when the trigger is fully depressed and then when you let it out a little and it will hold it open.

Dunno if they deliberately sabotage the latch round these parts cos none of em work. If you wedge the lever don't get distracted looking at the local totty or you'll have fuel all over your best Brogues, the lever was designed to flip off when the fuel reached the nozzle.

none of pumps in uk having the latch working. tis a safety thing apparently in case cut off doesnt work so u dont flood the forcourt while u nip off for a fag. in europe they do have it tho i think.

Having thought about it when I'm filling the rice burner up with unleaded the fuel occasionally cant get down the filler tube quick enough and the nozzle will cut out you have to release it then pull the trigger again, so I'd guess that the same would happen if you wedged a piece of wood, tennis ball or if you drive a Rangie your wallet under the trigger.

as soon as fuel touches the end of the nozel it will cut out to avoid overfilling and spillage but i think they disable the latch in case the cut off fails, or fuel is able to flow past the nozel with out the nozel being submerged.
if u know wot i mean

The local Shell, BP and Morrisons works fine.

All you need is a pop rivet The latch is meant to clip on a pin on the handle but in the UK they take the pins out - slip a pop rivet shaft through the two holes and the trigger will catch as they used to
