Hi,
My Defender is due to a new timing belt replacement. My local garage tells me that my landy probably needs a modification to one of the pully's. Something about a fault was found that can make the pully jump of the spline.
Can anyone tell me when this was introduced and if so how do i tell if I need to mofidication or if I already have it.

My vehicle is a 1991 LandRover Defender 90 truck cab, 200 TDI which has done 118,000 miles, i've only owned it for about 3 months and i have no service history.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Ah had mine done and just got all the parts needed off the shelf ('91 def 110). Ah can't say ah've heard of this before, but that's not to say say it ain't true.
;) :D

wot they said ^^^^^^^^^^^It;s for the 300tdi not the 200tdi

The original pulley had a seperate washer. Now it is inbuilt into the new and improved replacement pulley. If you fit the new pulley do not use the washer aswell or you will kill the cambelt within a couple of hundred miles.

Thanks, from the sounds of things, I have nothing to worry about as the mod in question refurs only to the 300TDI.
Cheers JB
