To fix the hot start problem, changing the top(and bottom?) chain, if you never done it before, how hard is it to do.. from a 1 to 10? and what other bits do you need,
 
I think wammers said in another post it was about 250 quid in bits. No idea how hard it is but I think that some special tools are needed to set up the timing.
From reading on here, I get the impression it's not super difficult but if you get it even slightly wrong, you will be doing it all over again.

With a trade card and timing tools, maybe. was looking more like 400 when I priced it up a few years ago.

Doubt Dopey's chains are that bad as his car is well loved. FIP might be tired though.
