these engines have belts, not chains.
**** easy to replace, mine snapped on me.
You will need 1 belt, 8 pushrods, 1 water pump gasket.
Take off the fan cowl, and the fan, remove the water pump, remove the timing belt housing cover.
Replace belt. Line the DOTS that are stamped into each pulley up with the arrows that are moulded into the backplate for the housing. Fit belt, and replace all the bits you've removed, incuding coolant.
Then, remove the rocker cover (3 bolts along the top)
Them remove the rocker shaft (10 bolts, 5 big 5 small) and drop in the new pushrods. Some of the old ones will be bent, for the price of them, just replace them all.
You may be able to do this bit without removing the rocker shaft.
Replace rocker shaft. Bear in mind that the 5 big bolts are also head bolts, so need torquing up accordingly. Do it properly, it matters.
Then, set the valve clearance. Really easy to do with the fan off 'cos you can turn the engine over by he bottom pulley with a socket or box spanner.
Refit the rocker cover, you may need a new gasket. DO NOT be tempted to try the engine without this in place, as you will be amazed at just how much oil is flying around in there.
Now, gingerly, turn the key. If you've got the timing on, it should fire up. If it sounds like its reluctant to start, clatters a lot, or smokes a lot, the timing belt is likely to be one tooth out - you gotta take the cover off and check it.
The entire repair job when i did mine took me about 2 an half hours, and cost me about £16.
I also didn' have a convenient instruction set here like you do!
Hope this help,
Boydy
