timing belt

is there a differance in the length of a standard timing belt and one that comes with an adapter. I ask as i don't know if my 300tdi has had a kit fitted and I want to change the belt. Ian

NO. The only difference is that one of the pulleys was in 2 parts and is now all in 1 piece.
