timing belt questions

Hi all you have probs been asked this before many times buyt can someone give me a list of parts to change whilst doing timing belt i have a p reg 300 tdi thanks

Hi
Timing belt tensioner is advisable.

Alternator drive belt,possible water pump & alternator drive belt tensioner bearing (if it's squalking)

Get the kit from craddocks (not paddocks they use britpart parts) it has it all the parts you need, also if its a P reg you will be on the change between two types, one has smooth idler pullys and one has a lip on them, so you need to get the right kit.

I told them my reg and they still got it wrong.

Check for play on the water pump and replace it whilst it's all apart if need be, IIRC there is two gaskets to replace when disturbing the water pump, can someone add please?

Re Paddocks, whe I recieved my Tdi 300 cambelt kit 2 days ago, it had a Dayco belt, Bearmach pulley, seal and idler.

Also re which 300 kit you need, it depends on whether the mod has already been done and VIN, see link:
