Hi guys, trying to purchase a timing belt kit... Im very confused by all the lingo and am stuggling to get my head round it even after a search... SO, if anyone could help me out please?

Ive heard that its deffinatly best to completelty avoid Britpart parts, i assume this means their REPLACEMENT parts? If so, what is meant by
"Brand: OEM | Source: BRITPART Quality: Original Equipment in Plain Box"
As stated on LRDirect the price of this kit is £59.23 whereas one listed as;
"Brand: BRITPART | Source: BRITPART Quality: Replacement Part - ISO9001:2000"
is listed at a price of £40.91

Any help? as the lr part is 130 quid... Thanks for any help in advance!

I'd say that it's best to avoid anything with Britpart written anywhere. Personally I'd go Bear machine OEM or LR. How much would a failed belt cost you?

HI,

I called LRDirect and was advised that the BP OEM kit £59 kit was the best one to get. So I got it fitted it and "touch wood" still working. ( 300 tdi ) . All the bits looked OK.

Cheers

Tis quite simple, get a kit with a "G" on the end of the part number, that dictates OEM, then it doesnt matter a stuff what box it comes in, blue, green ot yellow with pink polkadots.
Full 300tdi later kit with replacement pulleys is around £80
