Yep I think your right, I fixed it about 3 years ago pulled it apart and made it work again, do you think I can repair it again, or just buy another one? and a new belt?
 
Also whats the best replacement belt to get, can someone give me a link for it, I like to buy from Island
 
Is this all I need?
1 x Fan Belt Tensioner Ram (OEM) STC4168

1 x Belt Air Con 2.5 TD (Dayco) STC2326 STC3397

1 x Belt Fan 2.5TD BMW (Dayco) STC4455G

I went original after @Rick-the-Pick said he'd had 3 in 12 years. My vain hope was that it would last - so far so good. Rick strengthened his I think by welding something on?

Got a feeling I got a Gates belt from somewhere.
 
On the silly money parts I always try and get OEM, I don't see the point in saving penny's just to end up the part failing and doing it again, what do they say? "penny wise pound foolish"

Original was STC2129 but could be damaged if incorrect leverage was used over centring it. Discontinued. Newer and stronger version is STC4608 but they cost a few pennies. MUST be totally free on it's pivot.

Island have the OEM part in stock the below is all Island

Yea that bracket I managed to fix that, its an easy fix, it just got still I think, you can take it apart easy for repairing STC4608
