thumping noise

help !!!!!! real bad thumping noise coming from the front especially bad when i try to turn the steering , jack up front wheel on nearside , wont spin seams like its in gear and prop shaft is trying to turn when i do this any ideas , at first i thiugh cv joints but they seem ok
 
Wheel wont spin on its own even on a healthy one. Take two off the ground and do your spin and wobble checks. Both on same side is what I normally do - you can work two jacks at once that way.
 
when I removed my prop shaft oil leaked from the diff and because it was getting very dark, I took the flange off the prop to blank it off.I dont know if that was really necessary.You might want to check to see if your loosing transmission oil.
 
will check that in the morning just took of the back half ,its a complete differant drive now' and she only does light town and low milage
 
Were you getting a bit of 'wind up' when turning tight corners before as well? i.e. the car slowing down and feeling like you are towing something heavy when on full lock?
