Thud when accelerating

RRS 2008 HSE 2.7

Hi guys
When i take foot off accelertor and then press it back on i can hear a slight thud noise happens when im going i stop accelerating and press back on again can hear it

Its not major but i can hear it.
Any ideas please

Have a check of the prop shafts for play, you will need to jack up a wheel to check.

So just one wheel needs to be lifted off the ground is it brian. Should there be any movement at all ?

I would lift a side if you can them you can check front and rear at same time there should be no noticeable play in the joints, and turning the lifted wheels may well help working out were the noise is coming from, others will know more than me on a sport.

Just make sure you use decent axle stands.

Drive shaft center bearing
Get underneath and check the center support for the Propshaft. It will thump on both acceleration and deceleration.
Start there first, then check the front and rear upper and lower arms for movement in the front and rear arm bushes. Then check the ball joints and the end of each suspension triangle.

Is this a big job to replace the propshaft bearing

Unfortunately it's a complete assembly.. Last one I did for a client came as a whole kit.
Front prop, bearing and rear prop all in one from island4x4 but check your first before throwing money at it.
You maybe can split it. As it was for a client I couldn't risk failing to split it and the rear most and formost uj's had stiffened right up.. No grease nippples...
