P38A thrust bearing pulled from pressure plate 2.5 DHSEmanual 2000reg

Good evening folks, i'll give you the run down, maybe someone can assist as my wheels are off the road!!
I set off for work, pushed the clutch pedal and it shot to the floor, looked underneath , fluid dripping , slave cylinder over extended. Motor recovered, gearbox out, thrust bearing pulled out of pressure plate, is it a dodgy clutch? New clutch purchased, complete kit , plus slave and spigot bearing, and rawl pins, all fit correctly, gearbox offered up and in position, clutch operated manually to ensure fork has engaged properly, on fourth operation it has pulled the bearing out of the new clutch, somebody please give me something to work with, the car ha

I wouldn't have thought that was possible!

Usually when pedal goes to the floor the spiral pins that hold the clutch fork have failed. Those pins must be replaced when doing the clutch or they fail within 6 months. Personally I rammed a rivet stub up the centre of mine. Other's stick another 2 sets of pins up the centre of theirs.

How long is the rod on the slave you have fitted? Only other option I can think of is that the clutch fork is bent?

Thanks, new pins fit, and it failed this time without the hydraulics, it was moved with some grips whilst on the ramp, brand new clutch, bearing detached!!

Takes quite a bit of force to pull that release bearing out.

Beyond my ken. @jamesmartin may have come across this before. I he hasn't then I doubt anyone else has even imagined it.

Is there supposed to be a liner within the thrust bearing, because if it is not "snug"on the shaft it may be possible to pull the bearing through as it is off centre, struggling for ideas, on the ramp five weeks now, box in and out 3 times!

I don't remember a lining and it will move around a bit so it isn't snug. I guess it could pull sideways but only if the shaft isn't through. Once the shaft is through and everything is lined up it shouldn't move around as far as I'm aware. Only had mine out twice though. As I say, one of the gurus like James would know more. Or @wammers.
