Hi all
I go to Cornwall this weekend and the three Amigos are doing my bean in and need them gone

OK, so front left hand wheel was starting to sound like the bearing was on its last legs (rumbling around bends) and the 3 Amigos would sometimes come on, but disappear nearly as quick as they came. Until around a day before I changed the hub's then the lights stayed on.
So purchased 2 front hubs from Craddock a couple of weeks ago and fitted them last weekend, reset the lights, but came back on with a code of ^eratic signal from front left^

I spoke to craddock at the weekend who advised to check torque setting on the wheel and make sure the gap is correct on the sensor.
So I've been out tonight, rechecked the torque which was correct and then went on to check the sensor, I've no way of checking it electronically, but from a visual looked ok, teeth all looked there and to be fair slight pressure on the sensor (fight light) and I can feel the sensor rubbing on the teeth.
For me, I may be wrong but what else is there. Every year we go one hols something happens, last year gearbox went and wife I'd nagging me it's happening again now. On Friday on the way home the front headlamp was smashed by a stone, so luck appears to be against me.
Sorry, she is a 1998 disco 2, manual, diesel
Please, any help would be great.

Steve

Hi,
1. the sensor is not supposed to touch the reluctor ring, it must be an air gap there
2. if the warnings went out all together and thw ABS light didnt stay on alone untill the vehicle exceeded 7mph the fault is not sensor related
3. you can check the sensor by measuring across the pins in it's plu with multimeter set on resistance, a good one must be between 950-1100 Ohm
4. the correct way to diagnose this is with dedicated tester to see live readings too not just the fault code cos most testers can have some errors when it comes to SLABS related faults, even nanocom can miss from time to time

Once I reset the codes on the drive, abs stayed on along with tc......reversed off the drive, got to around 10mph and both went off, but quickly returned along with the third......

Sorry, also had it where the abs was on by its own, got to around 10mph.......abs went off, then around 3 seconds later the abs came back on followed by the other two soon after.

Yes, that's classic sensor signal fault symptom, if you fitted cheap hubs they can be bad from the start, especially if you feel the senor rubbing on the ring

Morning......to be honest, just brought a pair from Craddock, no make on the box or receipt, part number of tay100060.

So, when the codes are reset, are you saying all lights should go off immediately at point of reset and before the vehicle moves?

Thank you

No, if it was a sensor fault logged, the ABS lights should stay on untill the vehicle moves away

So, with the abs light staying on after reset, then clearing at 7mph, but illuminating again moments later would indicate sensor fault.??

To be 100% accurate it means a sensor signal related fault which can be the sensor, the hub, the circuit or the ECU... most common is the hub
