As of yesterday my handbrake, ABS and traction control lights are illuminated when the engine is started and I'm driving (note the TC light goes out after a couple of seconds when in position 2, but comes on again when the engine starts), car has been dry, used regularly and not got muddy lately...any ideas on a checklist of stuff to try? I'm a mechanical cretin so keep it simple for stupid here...

I don't think fitting a kidney into the ABS pump will help...

Does it need a new pump? If it's the valve switches are they not available seperatly?
Don't know to be honest...my local garage has a provider who has re-con units that are 30% the price of new LR units, so taking a chance with one of those...

Update on this...blimey...where to start...

1st recon unit was fitted and all fine on an initial test, but when MOT'd she started pulling to the right on braking...turned out the new (old) pump wasn't working...so swapped that out for another recon unit...same thing happened. Apparently the supplier (BBA / BBS?) give a 70% success rate on these units...experience suggests otherwise...

Had to bite the bullet and fork out for a new unit, but of course there are none available and now got to wait until mid-August for them to be back in stock...at least I got a refund on the recon units...
