    If you move close to them you should hear them click. Some use a magnet to do this. Check your car actually has them. A lot of cars have the "blank holes" so it looks like they're fitted when they aint.

    They have stamped the boom to say cam belt and water pump and oil change have been done at their own garage but no other evidence / receipts?

    If yer concerned look for new parts. The oil filter is between the engine and radiator, half way across the engine. Garages rarely provide proof of what they bought.
