Ah but hang on a minute! Clever old land rover have designed the Discovery to get safer as it ages. After a few years the chassis is no longer so rigid and acts as a crumple zone.

My real life experience of hotting a defender at high speed is that it totalled my entire front crumple zone so much that my car was scrapped and nothing on the defender.
