Hi All
"This is your Life!" = Big Red Book
Little Green Book = Story of my Life!

Real quick one..Air con works fine!,nice and cold. All heaters and blend motors all ok..But get my book up after a few mins....When topped up few months ago,Kwik Fit "couldnt get enougth gas in!"
Is it worth adding a Halfords top up can? Or does more gas not equal lower temp?and am i missing "real cold Air con"?
Or best leave well alone?
Cheers

the refrigerant charge in a vehicles a/c system is critical,as compared to a domestic or commercial "split system",it holds a relativly small amount of refrigerant, and no more gas doesnt equate to colder, the charge is critical and thats why its usually measured in by weight ie gramms of r134a or whatever yours contains using electronic scales if the system is completly empty,if its just low on charge then its more difficult to "top it up"as you have no base line to go on you have to rely on a a/c engineers guages to give you suction and discharge pressures ,or rely on his experienced guesstimate as to correct charge

So..Knowing there isnt enougth gas in there..(even though it works perfect) would you suggest i be happy with what i have,or go have it drained and then re gassed? I guessed i just screwed the Halfords top up on and it cut out when full!
I know theres not enougth in there,,but not a clue how much im missing!!!
Cheers

Here in the UK,we have a Automative Accessory Store called "Halfords"..
They sell a can of Ac gas (Freon i think) that connects to your car,so you can re gas "fill up" the system yourself

Hi there. Is the air con sensor working correctly.
the air con maty be fine but the sensor could be u/s.?.

I think there about 14 quid from a landy garage.
