Thinking of getting a Landrover toy to off road,

What is worth getting? i am considdering a RRC but are they good? what about an old P38 V8?

interested to hear your views guys

For pure off-road a Defender 90. If you can't afford a solid one, then a Disco 1 ....

V.little to choose as an off-roader between Disco 1 and RRC (essentially same chassis and drive train) except that disco has open centre diff with manual lock instead of VC on the RRC.

Would make sense though to go P38 V8, straight away it gives you a donor car for your other one with the added bonus of a V8 in the stable - V.nice!. They are awesome off road too

yeah i was thinking P38 V8. looking on ebay and auto trader they seem to be round £1500 and was thinkg that it would be a doner too in the worst case scenario.

might look for something a bit rough round the edges. prob be round the summertime when i decide to buy.

get the feeling we iz talking to a brick wall ?

My offroad toy is a disco 1, 2 inch lift monster tyres and has proved to be unstopable.

Classic are cheap and more offroad bits for em.Hardly any offroad bits for a p38 although a p38 is supposed to be better in the rough stuff.
