Hi guys, just joined. We're thinking of buying a freelander (our first land rover) were looking at 2005/2006, will this be freelander 1 or 2? Also, what are the trim levels? Hse seems to be most expensive, and sport seems more in our price range, but I would like the best I can afford. Cheers

Hello and welcome along.
It's facelift FL1
HSE is the top spec, not sure where the sport sits spec wise. The sport does have slightly lower suspension, so not good if you wanted to take it green laning. And don't be fooled by the term sport, it still uses the same engine as the rest of the Td4s.

Thank you. No, no green laning for me. It's going to be a family car, unfortunately I need to start being practical, and she's going to want a kid one day so were planning ahead.

Yes it is, if you look at my avatar, that's a pre facelift model.
To be honest mate, there isn't a lot of room in the boot.

I just find it small after my focus. It might be ok for prams and things, I don't have kids, just found it tight for space for my tool boxes.

Ok mate thanks for the help :) I've found one within my price range so ill try to have a look, thanks for the help

Hey buddy, I joined here without owning one too. Some good stuff around. The TD4 is defo the one to go for! Less headache.

I have come from an mx5 so anything has space lol. I wouldn't say its a massive boot but its certainly not tiny either. I think with freelanders you get more cabin room than you do anything else for the size of them. I mean they look bigger than a family saloon. My mate was showing me the boot in his octavia and it is much bigger than the freelanders but then the freelander has got some height to it too. I'm sure you can fit a kid in and its stuff no problem.

Found one were really interested in. I was just wondering if you could tell me if its timing belt or chain please?
