Hi, I have previously owned two P38s, I am now looking at possibly buying a L322 2010 onwards , my preference is the 4.4v8, (my mrs wants a toureg), is there any major issues with them? any advice, hints etc will be welcomed.

Makes sure the service history is complete.

There are a few issues regarding the turbos, make sure to drive it hard and rev it above 2500 rpm as that is when the second turbo cuts in. Any smoke out the back and it could mean the second turbo pipe is full of oil.

DPF are known to cause issues if not run on long drives.
Obv, check all electrics.
Water ingress into the rear compartments either side of the rear loadspace. Affects the leccie stuff hidden in there.
Gearbox oil and filter is recommended by LR at 144K / 9 years, byt ZF recommend iirc 5 years or 70 K miles and the oil and filter are not the cheapest.
Engine oil is a certain grade due to the PDF.
Rear wheel arches under the sill covers rust out.
Check heated and ( cooled ) seats if fitted, as they can fail.
Check steering adjustments works correctly.

Cheers

I have been looking at a few dealers online and there is a Dealer near Oldham that seems to have a good reputation and reviews, not sure if I can name them on here, I know you pay dealer prices but their cars seem to be well sorted and in straight order
