Think I've bought the wrong windscreen!

Hi All I've gone and done it again bloody ebay Bought a complete sticks set complete with windscreen and all the bits to make my 88 a floppy top for the summer BUT when we tried to fit the screen its the wrong one I appear to have a series 1 screen how can I tell for sure so I can sell it on as its in good shape.

Does it have the brackets welded to the side of the screen where it hinges on the bulkhead?

put a pic up and lets see, the egg may have the screen off you anyway

I'll take some pics tomorrow when I'm at the yard then try and figure out how to put up pics

an s1 screen has the mounts for the bolts to hold it to the bulkhead on the upright edge of the bottom of the screen. When the bolts go into the holes they will be parallel to the glass panes.

These mounts are large almost triangular pieces of metal that are welded onto the frame and should have two holes in them, one for the bolts to the bulkhead and one for a wing type mirror to screw in

Yup thats the bugger cheers Joe appreciate that. So it would appear I have a series one windscreen for sale with shark tooth top will gladly swap for a series 3 windscreen with shark tooth top. Just a quickie is the shark tooth interchangeable?

the shark tooth bit for an s3 will cost you around £65 its a separate piece, I doubt you would get that for an s1 screen, I bought one with glass for £15 a year or so ago, it was cheaper than getting a fresh piece of glass for mine. You might get an s3 screen on the bay with the bit already attached for less than £65 .

yes the thought had crossed my mind but didn't want to ruin a perfectly good screen but hey ho I'll get my favourite tool out

So after all that I've just seen an identical screen on ebay buts a series 2 not the one I thought do any of the screens interchange?

2 & 3 screens are the same IIRC.

its only the hinges that differ between series 2 and 3

Well this one definately doesnt fit the series 3 Pikey and what is IIRC?

item no 141261669135 on the bay is an exact match to my one.

If I Remember Correctly

and apparently you need to change the hinges.. BUt then it'll fit.
