hello,
i am Bram from belgium and i am new here,
now i finaly think i have found a nice old defender 90 from 1987
its a 2.5Td with 50kw.
the car looks ok, but are there points where i have to look extra for?
rust, wear and tear, weaknesses?

i am handy with mecanics and i can do alot myself, ( i have two rover mini's)

please help me!

rust footwells,rear cross member,chassis,out riggers,door bottoms.

Other than that a 200tdi engine transplant is very popular and generally bits are cheap.
From specialists in uk to you would still be cheaper even with postage

thank you,
i will look for those problem spots!
it a normal one,
and i wanne do 3 things with it for the moment:

-mounting a winch and winchbumper
-installing a rev counter if thats possible
-installing a snorkle.

now i wanne have a good price/quality and strong winch and bumper

sorry for my englisch some times.

check the top of the chassis rails at the back, and the cross member under the tub. I've just spent 2 days welding my one!!

thanks for the reply's
i have checked all those point, only thing is the steering pump is broken,
and needs to be replaced, is it a 3,4 or 6 bolts type?
and now in can move the steering around a lot without that my wheels are turning ( +-45degrees)
is it possible that this is from the broken pump!
