Hi, our problem is with our Freelander. When turning in reverse there is a loud clunk from the front end, like cogs jumping. this only happens when turning in reverse. When going forward and above 25mph you get a whine from the front end. It does seem to reduce if you steer hard one way or other. Any suggestions, please.

sort of narrows ya options down then
so dont turn in reverse
dont go forward
and dont go above 25mph

hang on that means you have to stay still or reverse without turning, theres your solution go everywhere in reverse without turning.

or if bob was here he would have the solution as to how to fix the gaylander

oh and :welcome2:

Welcome
It sounds very much like your IRD is broken, a common fault and expensive to fix.
I did mine along with the VCU coupling
