THERMOSTAT TD4

Just an after thought,
Would it be advisable to change the hose as well?
Had a look on ebay and can only find second hand top hoses for FL1 TD4. Are they still obtainable new?

go with the inline one,dont know what its like on yours but on the rover 75 ,same engine it is an absolute swine,engine mount on ,lift ,drop the engine and its still a swine to do as theres no room to get sockets spanners on ,just enough room to screw the bolts out 10 degrees re site the spanner then another 10 degrees etc etc ,deffo go with the modification of inline
 
I have just come across this thread and I have been meaning to sort out the thermostat for ages so will put the in line one in. Am I correct in thinking the engine end of the top hose is connected with the plastic threaded thing that is in the previous photos? And presumably just unscrews from the engine end? Oh, FL1 TD4 it is btw. Ta
