Hi all,

Once again, I can hear the sound of a UJ on its way out. I usually get them replaced by a mechanic, but at £70 a time, I figure I can probably do it myself.

However, does anybody have any tips on finding out which one is broken? Both of the props have a little bit of play, maybe a little more on the front one.

Cheers,

Chris.

you can buy a new prop for that , slide on prop may have a little freeplay ,thats not good but still has life in it , but any movement at all in uj and yokes means it needs replacing

Take off the one that has not had a uj replaced so far. Noise goes away - change both uj's on that prop - £20 job done. If still there, change the uj's on the other. Simples

Just done the rear prop on my 110 and cost less than £15 two UJ and prop bolts no need to jack the vehicle up just crawl under. I just use a slitting blade on the UJs if they are being stubborn
Have a look at Buster info and dont forget if you split the prop to check for the alignment mark when re fitting if you are bothered about balance.
