Is that 3/4 of an inch (i.e. 0.75) or 3/4 inches, as in 3 or 4 inches?!

Going back to the 18 inches of snow...well, that's total bollocks. The deepest snow recorded in the UK last year was 19 inches...and that was at Aviemore, the ski resort in Scotland!!

Fuk u lol no prob only like 3inch but on the
lanes by earl sterndale it was defo over 18 inch deep .
The hole lane was drifted over wel lets just say i went up again last night
With 2 defenders i got 3inch lift and insa turbo special track tyres
and still come to a halt we ended up reversing out about 1mile
an ive seen drifts higher than the road signs last year defo over 6ft drifts

WHOA there Evil but the brakes on and a sock it the m....th. I went on bbc news/weather and they showed a farmer shoveling out a farm gate and there was about a 3' drift, so IT IS very possible it did drifted up to 18" or so on a green lane. as I saw grass stems above the snow in a field which had maybe 6" of snow. So give the OP the doubt as you have been given the doubt before:rolleyes::rolleyes: Ok :D:p

This is the deepest snow I've come across in the UK...and given that was in the middle of a very bad winter and on the Hartside pass, the highest road in the UK, I doubt you're close after one night of snow in what has, so far, been a very mild winter!

As you can see, the actual snowfall is nowhere near as bad, that wall of snow has only be created by snowploughs clearing the roads...

I was in Turriff on Sunday night and there was about 3 to 4 inches of the bonnie white stuff. But there was considerably more lying on the higher ground.

If the OP saw 18 inches of snow then I would believe him, but I would also suggest that it was caused by the wind building snow drifts rather than this winter's early snow-fall.

As i sed the whole lane was drifted over 18inch deep . dont really expect u all to believe it was just snowfall but all i sed was wat i saw. oh and wat i had fun getting stuck in

I'm not surprised! We were in my mates 306, was a couple of years ago now. Had silly wide wheels and ropey 'Nankang' tyres, but we felt lucky. We were following a truck of some description but as we got higher and higher the usable road got narrower and narrower. I think the truck eventually stopped and turned back, we just about made it up and over the other side!

I wonder how many 4x4 owners go over it still when the road is closed?
 
Feck all snow just down the road from the six fingered buxtonites, on the cheshire plains.




Perhaps people need to differentiate between 'snow fall' and 'drifted snow'
