So in the 3 weeks I have owned my "new" rangie, it has been in the garage as much as out. We have replaced the Viscous Coupling/Fan, Replaced the battery, replaced the water pump and belts, and had an EAS fault reset.
When I changed the battery, the locks/remote locking would not reset, so in the car went today to have the locks reset and him to have a look at the (seemingly common) cutting out on reverse.
I went over this evening (my factory unit is a 3 minute walk from a garage who do a lot of Landy's) to pick up the car.
So.. Good news.
1. Remote locking is fixed (Just in time for our trip to Birmingham)
2. Door lock which was not working has also been fixed.
3. Autobox has had the linkage fitted properly and wiring loom reconnected.. (the new engine and gearbox seem to have been fitted by a monkey)
4. Fault codes have been removed and the car taken for a drive with the diagnostics attached. none reoccurred and all seems good except..
The Bad News,
1. The fuel pump needs replacing to stop the stalling when changing gear or slowing suddenly... mech was very apologetic, said he has tried all he can but that is what's gonna be needed.
You know what.. I don't mind.. I would rather not have to spend the money and replace it but the way I am looking at it. I paid a couple of grand less than a fixed Rangy. Got what I could afford and bit by bit am getting there a fix at a time.
