Well it certainly feels like it....

Righty ho, I finally got the new Disco transfer box connected on my 300TDi Defender today. Oh joy you would think....

..but no...

1st The speedo cable doesn't seem to fit, it would appear that my existing cable is to large to fit into the slot - is this correct or am I just not doing it right.?

Now I've tried to search this, but am not entirely certain it was right??

2nd the switch on the transfer box....I'm a little confused which wires should connect to it. The previous farmer owner hadn't connected them, instaid left a bunch of wires just hanging!!!!

I have two options.
Option 1: Red/White + Black Wire
Option 2: Blue/Black + Black Wire

I always thought it was option two, the Blue/Black + Black wires. However the Blue/Black wire has lost it's connector.

Thanks chaps ;)

Option 2

yes should prise out with a screw driver,at worst you have to remove hand brake assembly and speedo housing and lever out from inside

 James please tell me this can be done with the transfer box in place..?! It's taken me the best part of two full days to do this on my own..?!

Please say that it's possible or else you're going to make a grown man cry!!!

you can do it in situ, just need to lay vehicle on sied to tip the old drive unit out :)

The body of the speedo sits proud of the casting so just prise at the edges, the shaft and gear of the speedo may be left behind when the body is removed but it will just lift out because there will be nothing left holding it.

Hmmmm...

If the Blue/Black wire is for the transfer box, I wonder what the Red/White wire is for..? There's two green wires going into the gearbox, these wires then but connect to two pink or salmon coloured wires. I'm sure this was wired in Willy Whonkers factory!!
