Happy days. The good old 19j lasted some time then. Let's see some pics of the camping part in the back. I'd stick the disco lump in personally. I have a disco in one 90 and def in another n prefer the disco to work on

Have had a crazy year with work but managed to get quite a bit done (considering the time i had available) and hoping to make a good stab at it this xmas with time off and a chunk of cash.
Since last update:
New battery
Changed diff, transfer and gear box fluids
Painted the exterior in Black U-Pol Raptor bed liner
New windscreen and seal
Got early defender doors, the ones with lift up handles and wind up windows which I had repaired and matching strikers
New hinges
New door cards and lock cylinders
New headlamp upgrade
New fuel tank inc new sender and fuel return
Welded up, cleaned, rust converted and sprayed chassis with dinitrol kit
Picked up not one but two 200tdi engines to change the 19J with. (One 200tdi is from a defender and the other from a disco)
what side of the country are you on Mob?

Yea the 19J is tired and struggles at anything over 60mph but is fine for now. I'll get some pics up too inside and out.
The disco engine i have has no info about it where the defender engine is from a reputable source and comes with all the bits needed to drop it in including rad intercooler hoses etc... Except the downpipe
I'm living in Cavan at the moment.

Inside hasn't changed since these photos because its not the priority at the moment. It will all be insulated and lighting and elec wired in the back. As well as painted etc

Nice camper conversion. Keep an eye on the seal around the gas canister connection on your cooker. I used to sell them - they can fail, with exciting results!

Before I install this new engine it will have a new timing belt, rear crank seal, clutch and arm.
Is there anything else I should do when engine is out and before putting the new one in? Might try soundproof the firewall in the engine bay.
Should I get new engine mounts?

Edited - just see date of thread

I edited the title of the thread during the week is that what you mean? The thread was called the honey badger before i thought the new title was more appropriate.

Update:
So I have started working on the 200tdi engine and started to strip some of the bits off it to give it a good clean and probably even paint it.
Any suggestions on how to tidy up the exhaust manifold? Sand blast and engine enamel?
Ordering an engine crane instead or renting one so I can take my time with the swap and tidy up the engine bay while i'm there.
Regarding the oil cooler lines I think the engine is an early 200tdi so should be ok.
