I had some success with a non-starting small toyota by intervening to
dechoke it while someone esle turned the engine over. The auto-choke, being
temperature-based, couldn't cope with a flooded engine. poking a thin at it
to dechoke it manually let more air in, and thereafter it behaved.

'course, what I'd do is fit an LPG system :)
