what are the TRO dates on the Gap?

its open 1st to 31st March and 1st September to
15th October each year

so i found on the net

Sounds about right, couldnt quite remember the dates.

This route however is still hotly debated whether it is actually open or not. So tread lightly. From what I can gather, Highways say its open where as Powys CC say its closed. Drove it early last year and we got stopped by 2 CC chaps, saying it was closed and informing us of this that and the other etc etc. We explained the TRO signs were up and nothing was blocking the way, they said it was going to be changed blah blah blah. So you may find it blocked on your next outing up there if Powys CC get their way. Until then... Enjoy

kick ass time !! army types at the top surprised to see us at midnight ish.....

many repairs done in some smaller holes filled by / in blown bridge .. rest fine

how did it go? great apart from alternator packin up and brake caliper bustin... but thanx to the lads we got somewhere a bit more findable to be recvered...again lol

btw nice meetin ya all great bunch ov lads maybe next time i'll be on time and be more prepared

Was a good night untill the end but alas ****e happens .

Great to meet you guys too , what time did you get back home in the end ???? .

Quick review of the night .
Met up with Spece and his tribe after a detour to Newport lol ( dont get directions from a taxi driver next time lol ) .
Hit the GAP road at 11:15pm then stopped off for a coffe by Fan-y-big and disturbed some squaddies camping out up there .Compleated that section in no time at all really , then onto the top side of sarn helen all with no incedents untill the very end where spence's ( nathan5346 ) alternator bearings collapsed and ripped the belt off and bumped it on the track and twisted his fan/pas belt onto its side, and to top it off his brake calliper snapped off its mounts and ripped off his brake lines ...

So mannaged to take the calliper out from the wheel as it was floating around making some nice groved in his alloys and get some brakes back as we only has a small amount of brake fluid to play with .
Re mounted his fan/pas belt the right way but couldnt do anything with the alternator as we didnt have a spare belt or alternator for a 200 .
got back onto the main road where the AA could find him , and we went our seperate ways but in good spirits around 5am .

All in all we enjoyed it but was bloody knackard at the end .
There is a vid but its dark and my mate is having probs getting it to work ight on his PC to edit it ( but will post when hes done it ) .

recovered back to the yard and got home 11.00

bet you where absolutly knackard mate !!! we got back around 7.30 and fell into bed and didnt wake up till 5 lol .

ad me 4 cans (all it took) and me dinner and crashed out for a few hours.... gonna make up for it tonite

Gap still open? I thought the NERC bill put paid to that one, guess its one for next year now. Anyone local to the gap who can let me know the dates for that, and the southern leg of Sarn Helen (Aberdulais-Banwen) So I can try book some time off work next year.
