So along with a leaky diff and very leaky footwells I was driving home tonight and with sunroof open decided to lower rear offside window as I often do.
It drops nicely until, crash, window drops to its lowest position and there it stays.

So a quick read of Rave and door trim is off - the glass has parted company with the raising arm - little fixing grommet in the runner has snapped.
Managed to loosen the motor mount a little to get the arm back into the runner and then raise the window and re tighten to at least have the window closed.

On the face of it it should now work but I am getting nothing from the motor when I press the switch. So have I burnt the motor out when it broke?

Presumably I can test the motor in situ?
What would I use as a temporary 12v feed ? I can test the motor separately and then the switches but since they have worked today is there a fuse for each window somewhere?

It can't be that hard but anyone have a few pointers? And I found a hole in the bottom of the door - its been leaking in here for a while it seems.

Thanks
David

TBH it's probably not worth messing about with. You should be able to pick up a second hand motor and regulator for next to nothing off e-blag.

There is a fair chance the motor or the gear it connects to is past its' sell by date. You could try taking it all apart and seeing if you can free it off but it is a lot quicker to just swap it out.

For some reason I thought the regulator had some sort of electrical component - apparently not!
I'll try the motor externally but after that I'll just get another.
Would the fixing between the window channel and regulator come on a new regulator?

Well everything still works and the window still goes up and down but I daren't use it as it will just fall off again!
Does anywhere sell these little plastic parts - I need whatever fits into the channel on the bottom of the window that the regulator slots into.
