Good day to all,
I have joined the group to try and make some more sense of the stereo issues I have on my 08 L322 supercharged.
So, I have done all the usual "you tube" vids and even had a look around on here prior to joining to see if I could get the answers to my problems but I don't see the same issue I have as everyone else has blank screen or logo screen with orange light
I have blank screen no orange light, Unable to even eject nav disk. Have checked all fuses with the exception of the "secret" ones behind the fuse panel in the glove box which from what I saw on the video was 50A 60A and 100A and for head lights and seem a little excessive to me for the radio. Have done the disconnect battery (overnight) still no go, Removed and visually inspected all the components in the back and even picked up a replacement head as I had verified power as best I could at the Amp and head unit but still nothing :(
What should I be looking at next or can some direct me to a current/previous string?
I am a Brit living in northern Ontario Canada formally from Birmingham and love my Rover and even bought the wife an Evoque as North American vehicles are junk
Looking forward to chatting :)

I would think it will be caused by water ingress into the Radio module (rear left side of boot)
I have repaired mine in the past

I did have all of the components out and opened the ones I could to see if there was any sign of corrosion but did not see anything.
What did you have to repair and how?
Think I might need to take them all out again
Also is there a site/thread that shows an electrical print for this? Seems strange that I can't eject the nav disc....
The fiber optic cable runs through them all but that is for information not power

I had to fit a replacement lear unit and clean up the connections in the plugs, sealed the rear quarter window that was allowing the smallest amount of water through (runs down the harness into the unit via the plug / socket)

It could be one of the units in the fibre optic loop has gone down had this on my 2008 l322 which turned out to be the tv unit replaced with a second hand unit , you can buy fibre optic loop through kit to loop out each unit in turn to see if problem is fixed.

Would that cause a power loss to units? I would think the fiber optic cable is more for communication. ?
I have no orange light on the head unit power button Everything was ok then had screen failure (lines across screen) then nothing :(

Hi and welcome to the Loony Zone. Plenty of help and assistance on here.
One question I must ask though, what has your poor wife done wrong to buy her an Ejoke?:rolleyes::eek:

Loss of power = fuse, corroded connectors, ignition switch etc. many possibilities.

So I bought the fibre optic loop and have given it a quick test but still nothing, Does anyone know where the fibre optic starts? Is there a print for this ?

There are a few different diagrams depending on what's fitted, I have also seen different diagrams showing opposite directions but this is one that has been posted before so hopefully correct

So i just found an old string on here "L322 Entertainment system dead" and BBS GUY posted this, I highlighted and underlined

Under the midddle part of the dash unit is an ECU called the Audio Control unit.
It is the gateway between the CAN bus and the MOST bus. On Disco 3 and RRS's it is literally strapped on the back of the head unit.

It has its own diagnostic capability and i can't vouch for others we provide a software module specifically for that along with all the other (up to 30) on bord systems.
If it has no power, it will not respond to any attempts to communicate diagnostically with it at all. you may as well be plugged into a washing machine as far as the diagnostic equipment is concerened. It is also the start of the MOST Bus.

So that (in red above) is number 1 in the diagram but I don't know if that provides power to the touch screen display.

Given this my guess is the screen is fubarred and as it is second in the chain it's killed everything else.
Disclaimer:- This is just my guess and should you buy a replacement that does not fix it I will not be held accountable :D

Also just found this in the manual which indicates a replacement may need coding to the car
Signing off now, bed time for me

The IHU is the timing master for the MOST system. The IHU controls and manages the MOST ring and the system components. It is also responsible for the MOST security system. Each component in the MOST ring has a unique serial number. The component serial number is stored in a registry file in the instrument cluster. If any component serial number is not recognized, the entire audio system will not function.

Has it ever worked or did you buy it like that? scrap that just re read the thread

:p:D Its been a great vehicle up to now with just the usual running repairs We have temps down to -35C and it always starts and drives.

I just need to work out where these other units are.. I know the Amp, sat nav and Bluetooth in the back left and not sure where the others are..

When my tv unit packed up I had nothing , no light on screen no radio no nav no phone. having read all I could find on forums I opted to start with tv unit and hit gold first go (made a change normally last thing I try turns out to be first thing I should have try`d lol).
