So, after owning a disco 1 and a disco 2, I had a spell away from Land Rovers and bought a VW Passat estate, don’t ask why, that’s another story.
Anyway, after nearly 2 years on the dark side, I’ve now bought a 2010 freelander 2. Just a basic entry level S model, but first impression are, they are good, solid and reliable cars.
Is there anything I should keep my eye on with it? Known issues, etc.

thanks, it’s good to be back!

Make sure the servicing is better than the service schedule.
LR say 10 years or 150k miles for all transmission fluids (Haldex, rear diff, PTU, gearbox), but in reality the Haldex needs a service every 30k, the rear diff, PTU and gearbox at 70k maximum, if long term trouble is to be avoided.
Timing belt is past due, so get that done if not done already.
Otherwise just change the engine oil with the correct grade and obviously the oil filter annually, and the fuel filter every 2 years (make sure it's a genuine (has Purflex on the top)), and the air filter at the same time.
Otherwise just enjoy it, and maybe add some higher spec toys, like steering wheel audio controls.
