Evening all - the time has come to bung a new drivers seat into the disco, as I've gained 4 inches extra headroom following a modest pothole on the weekend (and a unique sensation in the nether regions when it happened ). The lumbar support mechanism is also munched, so I'm going to swap a more modern one in rather than fix this one.

The question is - what seats are the comfiest? I'm leaning toward a 5 series or s60 seat or similar, but I don't have much arse down experience in modern cars. So for those living a double life outside their discos, any suggestions?

Ideally the donor seat will have the nice lever out knee support jobby, be reasonably firm or that old volvo pleasant soft, and have a proper steel frame / rail to weld it with.

Ta!

If youu're happy to play around eith rails etc, the most comfortable seat I ever had was in a lexus soarer, memory electric too, i could slide it back on cruise control to be able to stretch my legs a bit and then let it recentre.

I'm looking at putting a beige e46 3 series seat in mine to match the interior once I've done body. The m sport seat is best I've had - even beats my current merc

Just had a peep on ebay, those certainly hold value better than other other 20+ year old heaps! guess it's the 1JZ following. Made me think about the more recent IS seats as well :). Nothing better than that first leg stretch when cruise goes on...

I've had a few, very good even when they're old. Very common and affordable so they're probs on the cards as well

I did want to keep it in the marque but when I saw how cheap they were in eBay I thought maybe theyre an option. Lots to do before I think of finishing touches though. I think the s60 seats are a good shout too. The style would suit well. I know my beige 330 interior was very close in colour to the disco though. The slide out knee is missing from my Merc too!

They were just a perfect fit for me. Fitted my long legs and could get comfy. I just wonder if coupe style seats would be at the right angle for a sat up disco....

They are fully electric with the seat base height & angle adjustable so they should suit any driver ;)

You reckon that can all be wired in kev? Supposed it' just a live feed. I guess you would just fab up the bottom of the rails to suit landy holes. Bm are good at seats that' for sure. My mates 335 has the inflatable bolsters etc. Hugs you when you get in
