Watching SKYFALL the other day, and during the obligatory pre-credit action(?) sequence in which Bond and Moneypenny have a car/train chase in a silver defender ( total damage to 'Fender= 2 broken wing mirrors. Must be on a tight budget these days) I got to thinking about other similar movie appearances by our beloved marque, from blatant product placement to the more subtle.
Most blatent? Anyone remember 'Callan' with edward Woodward? 70's espionage series with a movie spin-off. In the film, there is a plot device obvously written in for the sole purpose of showing off a 4x4. Callan is tasked with being in a certain location at a specific time, then getting to a second destination to intercept his target quicker than possible by road. He looks at his orders and says "I'll need an ordinance survey map. And a Range Rover..."
In 'Get Carter' ( the Michael Caine original) the same landrover turn up twice. First being driven by the gangsters out to get him, then later full of coppers as a police vehicle on a dawn raid. Hilarious.
The most Obscure? in the 'Bourne' films, Jason Bournes nemesis is a female agent called.... Pamela Landy.
Anyone got any more?

we've had this thread before there were loads,

a couple of michael caine films had them in, the italian job was one with the recovery crane on the back, there was also one in the ipcress file, then there was a recent film called the troll hunter or similar,

I'll have to see if I can find the thread.

here is a linky, but not to the thread, there is 127 pages of them so happy reading !

Not to **** on your bonfire or anything but the thing with been a bit "new" is that most of the threads you think are original aren't!

This same thread was started a couple of weeks ago and it died on its arse then. :D

Sorry to offend your sensibilities, wasn't really thinking about being original, just thought the Pamela Landy gag was worth a go.
Next idea? how bout movie scenes showing people dying on their arses, possibly suffocating in a big ginga beard?

I was watching Heartbeat one time and some dude was watching from his bedroom window some dude get in a landy
The foley artists working on the film made a big cock up, It was defently not the sound of a landy door shuting they used

I've never noticed that it was the same land rover twice in get carter.

A few of episodes of the professionals and minder feature range rovers as the baddies choice of vehicle. Nearly every episode of hearbeat has a landy in it.

was that because it shut and latched first time without having to be repeatedly slammed or without anything falling off ?
