just wanna say thanx to landyzone , my freelander wouldn't start yesterday after running fine all day, dash lit up ok ,battery ok, clock and radio went out when ignition turned full on.
looked on here see if anyone else had a problem and lo and behold yes they did
i looked it up and found that the 25 and mgzr used the same switch! so after ringing landrover(£63.19inc vat) i rang a few breakers , went along and started stripping a few columns, the 25 DOES NOT use the same unit BUT the mgzr does cost me £8, but be prepared to do some work to get them out (unlike the freelander)
anyway got it home ,put in freelander,NOWT!!!!!,in despair i kept turning key backwards and forwards@6/7 times then just held key in start position and it fired up, turned off wouldn't start again, messed turning back and forth again..since touch wood i think it was probably damp, i did remove from a zr in the rain w/ no windows or doors.
